The ACTS (Adoration, Community, Theology, Service) Retreat, as offered through St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, is one visible sign of this community living out its mission "to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to all God's people through work and action." This evangelization retreat experience is intended to be a doorway through which individuals gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be an active, conscious, participating member of St. ark the Evangelist parish and the larger Catholic Church. The primary purpose of AC.T.S. is to strengthen this parish as an Eucharistic Catholic Community, through renewed participation in worship, fellowship and service. CLICK HERE for more information |

Meals on Wheels provides home delivery lunch to residents of Bexar County who are:
- 60 years of age or older
- Homebound
- Unable to travel to a senior nutrition center for lunch
- Unable to prepare a meal for themselves or have anyone in the home to prepare a meal for them.
The goal of CSS is to provide a well balanced, hot meal to the homebound elderly of Bexar County. There is no charge for eligible clients; however, a small donation is suggested. All donations go back into the program to provide more meals for more seniors. Nutritious food is essential to everyone; therefore income is not a criterion for service.
The Meals on Wheels program welcomes volunteer drivers for the St. Mark route. Substitute drivers may volunteer to help Meals on Wheels deliver a hot lunch and a warm smile to our homebound elderly. Meal delivery normally takes about an hour, between the hours of 10:30 am and 1:30 pm Monday through Friday.
Volunteers should call Lola at 210-735-5115 or emal at lolad.css@sbcglobal.net Volunteers must have a current drivers license and proof of automobile insurance. Orientation takes place every Wednesday from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at Christian Senior Services, 4306 NW Loop 410, San Antonio, 78229.
Potential clients may call in to the Outreach Office of Christian Senior Services (735-5115) to make application for the program. Clients may also be referred by family, friends, doctors, and community service agencies. The St. Mark coordinators for Meals on Wheels are Kit and Rich Miller at 494-6323. Learn More

Women's Guild
|
|
|
At the beginning of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Parish in 1976, an active women’s organization was formed, known as the Altar Society. Committees over the years have fulfilled the objectives of the society “to assist the Pastor and Parish as occasions arose for Liturgical worship.” Monthly meetings are planned to promote the spiritual growth and fellowship among the members, and to develop religious, civic and educational enrichment of the members of the parish.
Bake sales, fashion shows and luncheons are among the many ways the women have raised money to meet their goals.
